25 Photos Past and Present of New Englanders’ Halloween Costumes
Halloween is fast approaching, and people in New England are ready! I don't know when Halloween started to rival Christmas in terms of how people decorate, but it's almost on par with Clark Griswold's massive light display in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
I'm honestly surprised they never made a National Lammpoon's Halloween Decorations. It would become a new Halloween classic.
Our friend Peter Geiger, editor of the Farmers' Almanac, continues his tradition of handing out king-size candy bars at Halloween at Geiger headquarters in Lewiston.
I estimate there are about 25,000 giant skeletons in people's front yards across New England and the number rises by the minute.
But when you put aside all the decorations and candy, what is best about Halloween are the costumes.
I couldn't find any pictures of me in my Halloween costume as a kid, but I did find one of me dressed as Batman and one of my son Jake as Robin back in 2009. Surprisingly when I put this up on Facebook, he wasn't embarrassed.
Seeing these two pictures pop up in my Facebook feed, I decided to ask if anyone would like to share their Halloween costume photos either past or present. I was overloaded with photos! I wish I could have shared them all, but I've shared 25 of them below.
If you sent a photo and don't see yours here, feel free to share yours with us in the comments on our Facebook page.
