Look: Stephen King’s Pennywise Visits Portland, Maine, and Leaves Creepy Red Balloons
This is one of my favorite traditions that Portland, Maine, has yet to let us down on every single Halloween.
We are talking red balloons mysteriously showing up, floating above the sewers.
And rightfully so, considering Maine is home to one of the spookiest authors in history, Stephen King.
So I ran around the Old Port this morning to catch as many real-life photos of the balloons that must have been tied to all the sewers overnight before they got popped.
Though I have no idea who the mysterious balloon bandit is, I respect the way he or she never misses a single sewer in Portland.
Can you recognize any of these locations?
The red balloon bandit isn't the only mysterious bandit that we have in the city.
Another one of my favorite bandits is the heart bandit around Valentine's Day (may he rest in peace).
Much like the balloon bandit, heart bandit also never missed a window with his paper hearts. I love the fact that our city does cool things like this year after year that show we love our community.
