2024 Data Reveals Most Popular Maine Ice Cream Stand in the State
Maine Loves Ice Cream
I think I can speak for everyone in Maine and those "from away" that Summertime is the best time in the 207. When you live in a state where at some times throughout the year, you can't feel your face because the air freezes it upon impact, pretty good bet that Summertime is the favorite. What goes with Summer better than Ice Cream? Nothing. Maine's most popular ice cream is Gifford's Ice Cream stand in Skowhegan.
Maine's Regional Favorite Ice Cream
According to traceone.com, the people who decided these stats, they gathered data from Google Trends for the 12 month period ending in April of 2024. In short, the most-searched regional brand in each state represented the most popular.
That same article states that 90% of Americans like ice cream. (duh....) U.S. ice cream makers produce more than 1.38 billion (with a b) gallons annually, and the bulk of that is consumed in the warmer months. That's a lot of lactose. I'm getting cramps just thinking about it.
Gifford's Ice Cream is Simply The Best
Not only does Gifford's have every flavor of ice cream that you could possibly want, it's also a great place for your Instagram pix. There is a humungo Moose statue, (of course there is...) and beautiful picnic tables around back for you to enjoy your tasty treats.
The Lobster Traxx is a go to for me. Kinda tastes like a french pastry with yummy chocolate, caramel filled pieces that are colored and shaped like a lobster. Very Maine.
New England's Most Popular Ice Cream
The same data claims that every state in New England has a favorite national brand, Ben & Jerry's.
Here are the directions to Gifford's Ice Cream in Skowhegan. Check it out and let me know how you like it.
