New Hampshire’s Most Breathtaking Scenic Fall Foliage Drives
New Hampshire is Gorgeous in the Fall
The Lakes Region
Maybe you, like so many others, associate the Lakes Region with Summer fun. Although it is definitely that, the region is also incredibly lovely for fall foliage.
The Lake Sunapee Scenic Byway is well traveled during the fall, but any of the towns in the Lakes are beautiful.
Take a drive through Meredith, Moultonborough, Tuftonboro, Belmont or, the Oldest Resort Town in the Country, Wolfeboro, you'll see some incredible colors.
The Monadnock Region
Take a drive through the Monadnock Region of New Hampshire, through Peterborough, also known as "Our Town." It will bring you to Keene, New Hampshire which was, at one point, home to the largest carved pumpkin display in the country, maybe even the world.
Along the way, there will be several places to stop to buy maple syrup and apple cider.

Franconia Notch and the White Mountains
Some people say the best drive for scenery of any kind, not only for fall foliage, is the Kancamagus Scenic Byway. The drive will take you through the White Mountains National Forest and give you an opportunity to pull over at the most beautiful spots and take pictures.
Remember, anywhere you go in New Hampshire or New England in the fall is pretty, but you have to go early in the season. If you wait until the end of October or November, you'll be driving through nothing but yellow or bare trees.
