A man was charged with drunk driving after driving the wrong way on Interstate 293 early Sunday morning with two children in the car.

Drivers called 911 around 12:40 a.m. to report a silver sedan traveling northbound in the southbound lanes near Exit 6 (Amoskeag Street). State Police troopers tried to stop the car, which made a U-turn at the upper split for I-93/I-293 and headed southbound. Troopers stopped the car, driven by Sulma Canales Cabrera, 26, of Nashua near Exit 5 (Granite Street).

Police did disclose the relationship between Cabrera and the two children, ages 6 and 10.

Cabrera was also charged with reckless conduct, aggravated driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and endangering the welfare of a child. He faces an appearance in Superior Court in June.
