New Hampshire utilities are optimistic about power restoration, while Maine customers will have to be a bit more patient.

With the rain moved out and the wind speeds decreasing, crews are able to fully get out and complete repairs to wires brought down by fallen trees and branches Sunday and Monday.

Unitil, which said it has 11,668 customers out at one point during the storm, expected to have the majority of its customers restored by Tuesday evening. However, restoration could take longer for customers in isolated pockets that experienced extensive damage, and those with individual service issues."

“Our crews have worked around the clock restoring power to tens of thousands of customers who lost power during Monday’s high winds and we have a fresh compliment of crews blanketing the Seacoast this morning who will continue to work until all outages are restored. We appreciate the tireless work of our crews, municipal officials and the patience of our customers during this restoration process," Unitil Media Relations Manager Alec O’Meara said in a statement.

Eversource was also optimistic about restoring its customers by Tuesday night at the latest.

“Working tirelessly since the storm entered the state overnight Sunday, our crews have made great progress working with public safety officials to clear blocked roads and address emergency situations while making repairs to restore power to more than 84,000 customers," Eversource New Hampshire President of Electric Operations Doug Foley said in a statement.

Foley said crews will be sent to help other utilities with their restoration efforts, including Eversource in Massachusetts.

Over 4,000 customers were without power as of noon Tuesday in New Hampshire and 32,615 in York County in Maine, according to the respective utility outage maps.

    • Eversource: Over 2,315 customers were without power statewide.
    • Until: Approximately 1,079 customers are without power mostly in Kensington, Kingston, and Seabrook in the Seacoast region.
    • NHEC: 639 outages statewide.
    • Liberty has a handful of outages.
    • Central Maine Power has 32,615 customers without power in York County, especially in Acton, Buxton, Hollis, Lebanon, Limerick, Kittery Saco, Sanford, South Berwick, Wells, and York.

In a statement, Central Maine Power said over 2,000 people, including 1,400 line and tree workers, are working on assessment and restoration statewide. An additional 1,000 workers from New York and Connecticut will be arriving Tuesday.

Our priority in any storm is to ensure public safety, which means working with our Emergency Management Association partners and MEMA to de-energize downed wires and help clear blocked roads for emergency vehicles. We also focus on critical facilities like hospitals and water/sewer treatment facilities.
