A Santa's Village worker was seriously injured on a roller coaster Saturday afternoon.

An initial investigation by the state Fire Marshal revealed that the 51-year-old man fell off a platform at the theme park in Jefferson while a roller coaster was in motion. The worker was taken to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The name of the ride was not disclosed by the state Department of Safety in a statement. There are two roller coaster type rides at Santa's Village: Rudy’s Rapid Transit Coaster, and Poogee Penguin’s Spin Out Coaster.

Tramway and Amusement Ride Safety investigators are going to the park to inspect the ride and continue the investigation.
