Actress Jennifer Lawrence is getting married on Saturday, October 19th at a notoriously haunted mansion in Rhode Island, according to People.com. The 40,000-square-foot castle in the seaside town on Aquidneck Island is known as the Belcourt of Newport. Lawrence's soon-to-be husband is Cooke Maroney, a 34-year-old art gallery director. People reports that they became engaged in February, after less than a year of dating.

However, the spotlight is not on their swanky wedding, but the venue itself. The Belcourt of Newport, which is now inhabited by the woman who owns the Alex & Ani jewelry company, as per People, is supposedly full of rich and debauched history. Legend has it as the scene of some raunchy parties in the 1990s. The mansion was reportedly designed by American architect Richard Morris Hunt in 1894, and it has a reputation of being haunted. While it is not clear in the article who or what is haunting the place, People says the spooky estate was once used to host ghost and murder mystery tours.
