When you host a festival successfully for over two decades and then decide to just not to because some college kids went nutty at unrelated event, you better believe business will go down.

WMUR reports that stores in Keene have seen an enormous drop-off in sales, with one stating they pulled in $10,000 less than last year. I've made it no secret that I believe Keene made a major mistake in not recognizing that they were overreacting to a terrible but anomalous sequence of events last year.

Their loss, however, will likely be Laconia's gain. The Lakes Region town, known for dealing Motorcycle Week for nearly a century, was happy to welcome the Pumpkin Festival. Being a good bit more centrally located, it's a solid bet that the new location will stick for the next couple of decades.

Don't miss out on the fun this Saturday beginning at 10am-- get all the details at PumpkinFestival2015.org.
