Kellogg’s Recalls Honey Smacks Cereal Due To Possible Salmonella Contamination
(Concord, NH) - Health officials are investigating 73 illnesses across 31 states, including one confirmed case in New Hampshire.
The Kellogg Company announced the voluntary recall last Thursday. No other Kellogg products are impacted by the recall.
The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) public health and regulatory officials in several states and the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) are investigating 73 illnesses in 31 states. Based on interviews of those who became ill, investigators determined that the Honey Smacks cereal is the likely source of the outbreak. New Hampshire officials report one case of salmonellosis has been confirmed in the Granite State as part of the outbreak.
Officials say anyone with Honey Smacks cereal should throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
