Kira’s Summer Reads for 2020
I have been a big reader since I was a little kid. I am always reading something and when I reach the final chapters of a book I start thinking about what I am going to read next. Now that I have moved to Portsmouth and am not spending two hours in the car commuting, I have more reading time! I also have an awesome deck that is the perfect reading spot.
When the Kindle came out 13 years ago I really wasn't interested in it. I consider myself an old school chick when it comes to reading. I love physically turning the pages, looking at the cover art, and having the option to lend a book to a friend when I finish it. But since I am a bit of a book junkie, I have accumulated WAY too many books over the years. We are in the process of looking for a bookshelf just for all my books. So I decided the time is now to make the switch. I am a modern woman after all! Plus, the new Kindle PaperWhite is pretty awesome. It's waterproof so I could read it in the pool (if I had a pool). It stays charged for days and is good for indoor and outdoor reading. I'm pretty excited for my new toy to arrive.
I am already thinking of all the books I want to download when it comes. Here are a few of my bucket list books for this Summer:
The Idea of You
By: Robinne Lee
The Vanishing Half
By: Brit Bennett
The Giver of Stars
By: Jojo Moyes
The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*ck
By: Mark Manson
Normal People
By: Sally Rooney
Little Fires Everywhere
By: Celeste Ng
Have you read anything good lately? I'd love some recommendations! Feel free to leave them in the comments :)
