I remember when I was a kid if you read a certain amount of books over Summer break you'd get a personal pizza from Pizza Hut. Well if I was still in school I'd be redeeming lots of pizzas this Summer.

My New Years resolution is always to read more and I'm not doing too shabby in 2019! I find that I fall asleep easier after reading a chapter or two of a book rather than absent-mindedly scrolling Instagram.

If you are searching for a new book, look no further! Here are my five favorites from the Summer:

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine

I wasn't able to put this book down! It was captivating from the first page to the last. You become invested in Eleanors endearing character and her journey of letting go of her haunting past and making her happiness a priority.

Stay Sexy and Don't Get Murdered

If you listen to the "My Favorite Murder" podcast, this one is a must-read. Karen and Georgia write exactly how they speak. Their voices are relatable, hilarious, wise and when you finish, you will feel like you got to know your two best friends a little better.

Educated

This is a memoir of a child being raised as a Mormon, Tara Westover's recount is compelling, shocking, tragic and true.

Girl, Wash Your Face

I don't typically gravitate towards self-help books because they can be a little "woo woo" but I found this one to be special. Rachel Hollis is unbelievably successful but she isn't preachy. She acknowledges that some days are just plain hard and she feels like she can't do anything right. This book will transform your negative headspace and teach you how to get out of your own way so you can start living your dreams.

The Kiss Quotient

This book follows a 30 something-year-old girl with Asperger's syndrome. She hasn't had much success when it comes to love so she enlists the help of an unsuspecting party. This book is sexy, sweet, light-hearted and just delightful.

There you have it. And up next I am reading "The Alice Network". I just received it from a co-worker and I will report back with a review.
