My first weekend in NH, I went to KTP twice. Yes, twice. It easily became my favorite store in New England.

If you've spent any time on the Seacoast, you know that when Kittery Trading Post puts on an event, people show up.

Junefest returns June 12-21, and it's become one of the unofficial kickoffs to summer for outdoor lovers across New Hampshire and Maine. Sure, there are sales and special deals throughout the store, but that's only part of the attraction. For 10 days, the KTP transforms into a destination packed with family activities, outdoor demonstrations, giveaways, seminars, food, and Father's Day weekend fun.

This year's lineup features everything from free mini golf and yoga classes to outdoor experts sharing tips on hunting, fishing, camping, and adventure. Nationally known hunter and trapper Tom Miranda will be on-site hosting seminars, while visitors can check out product demonstrations from some of the biggest names in the outdoor industry.

Father's Day weekend is expected to be one of the biggest draws of the event. Visitors can enjoy free mini golf, beer tastings, cornhole tournaments, outdoor gear demonstrations, giveaways, and family activities throughout the weekend.

But let's be honest.

The real celebrity might be Poppy.

Poppy, the miniature Highland cow from Stillwater Minis, will be making an appearance during Junefest, and if you know my obsession with mini Highland cows lately, you already know why people are excited. With her shaggy coat, tiny stature, and camera-ready personality, there's a good chance she'll steal the spotlight from just about everything else happening at the event.

Families can also visit a petting zoo featuring goats, sheep, rabbits, ducks, and other farm animals, making Junefest an easy choice for parents looking for something fun to do with the kids.

For the outdoor crowd, there will be plenty to explore as well. YETI Power Day giveaways, the popular Boots & Brews event, free beer tastings, cornhole competitions, and opportunities to learn about the latest gear from outdoor brands are all part of the schedule. Father's Day weekend will also feature the SIG SAUER shooting trailer, where visitors can experience demonstrations and hands-on activities.

Everything you need to know you can find here

Whether you're looking to score some new outdoor gear, spend Father's Day with family, grab a photo with Poppy the mini Highland cow, or simply find an excuse to kick off summer, Junefest has become one of the Seacoast's most anticipated annual traditions.

And honestly? If a mini Highland cow, free mini golf, giveaways, and beer tastings can't get you to spend a few hours in Kittery, I'm not sure what will.
