Ahead of the Fourth of July holiday, law enforcement officials are reinforcing awareness of motorcycles and bicycles.

This week's weather looks spectacular, meaning many will be on two wheels. Motorists are reminded to watch for motorcycles and bicycles. Sunday night, a thirteen year-old by was stuck by a sixty two year-old man in Pepperell, Mass. According to their website, the boy, who's name has not been released was hit by a Chevrolet Malibu sedan. The boy was transported by a Pepperell Fire Department ambulance to Nashoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer. He was then flown by medical helicopter to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester. Per the site, the boy suffered serious injuries that are believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the sedan reportedly stayed at the scene of the crash and was cooperative with police.

As of Monday, the cause of the crash remains under active investigation by Pepperell Police.
