A jackknifed tractor trailer on the Maine Turnpike is causing big backups in the southbound lanes in Saco.

Maine State Police said the truck is blocking all the lanes south of Exit 36 for Interstate 195 where all traffic is being forced off the highway. Traffic is backed up for several miles approaching the exit. There is also a rubbernecking delay northbound approaching Exit 36.

The heavy rain is being blamed for contributing to the crash.

The detour is also causing delays on I-195 east and Route 1 south.

Only the tractor trailer is involved in the crash and no injuries are reported, according to police.

Driver Brian Butler, 33, South Carolina was in the far right lane when he started to lose control, according to State Police, who said the trailer was not loaded at the time of the crash.
