Memorial Day Is Also JFK’s Birth Centennial
(Boston, Mass.) - While the nation celebrates Memorial Day on Monday, a celebration is already underway marking the 100th anniversary of the birth of John Fitzgerald Kennedy.
The 35th President of the United States was born on May 29th, 1917. Starting today, a yearlong celebration opens at the JFK Memorial Library and Museum in Boston to honor his life and legacy.
To mark the centennial, the US Postal Service issued a forever stamp in February featuring a 1960 photograph of Kennedy, taken by Ted Spiegel during a campaign stop in Seattle.
