Wow.  This is huge in the best way possible.

The iconic, 98-Year-Old Rosa and other restaurants in Portsmouth are being sold to Michael Timothy's Dining Group, the current owner of Surf on Bow Street.

If I didn't know Chef Buckley personally or taste his food every chance I got, I would be more nervous than I am.  Believe me when I tell you, this is VERY good for Portsmouth.  Chef Buckley's food is off the hook... and when it comes to seafood, that's a literal statement.

According to Newsbreak via Portsmouth Herald, Michael Timothy's Dining Group is buying two more restaurants from Real Estate Developer, Mark McNabb.  (MT Dining has already purchased the Hearth Eatery space that McNabb also owned.)  Martingale Wharf will close on November 3, 2025, then the Rosa will transfer ownership on December 31, 2025.

I can not stress enough how excited I am about this.  Chef Buckley is passionate about food and serving it in the most excellent way.  He LOVES feeding people.  These properties that he has acquired, are going to be elevated the same way Surf was.  That place is a step above the rest, IMHO.

NH Chef Has Other Restaurants in the State

Michael Timothy's Dining Group has two Bakery & Cafe models, one at 436 DW Highway, Merrimack, NH and the other at 9 Market Place in Hollis, NH.  He recently announced that he is taking over the Hearth Cafe space recently vacated in Portsmouth as well.

The other restaurants owned by Chef Buckley are:

I am sure that Chef Buckley will be looking for help with getting the place up and running, so if you are looking for a job and know how to work hard, you can find the job listings on the MTG website.

Welcome to Portsmouth again and again and again!
