The Most Popular Dogs Names in New England vs. the United States
Dogs are the best pets, and I will die on that hill.
To the cat and turtle lovers of the world, I recognize your animals as pets too, but no other animal is as good as a "man's best friend."
And no two dogs are the same. ALL have their own personalities. Take my two dogs for example. I have Miko, the attention-seeker, crowd-pleaser, human dog. I also have Mr. Larry, the dog, dog. The lazy one who will ignore you and sit on you if he wants to be scratched.
Although so many dogs are similar in breed, size, etc., they are all so wildly different.
One similarity you can count on, however, is seeing many dogs with the same name. I mean how many "spikes" have you met?
Probably a lot. Just like baby names, dog names have trends to them. Names come and go, and you often hear the same dog name being called at dog parks.
According to US News and World Report, the most common dog name in the entire United States is Bella.
Bella was the most common dog name in 37 states. Of those 37 states, Bella was #1 in New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
Honestly, that makes perfect sense. I know a LOT of four-legged Bellas.
The next most common dog name was Luna. Luna was #1 in Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont.
This also does not surprise me. I've met a lot of Lunas, but I do love that name.
The next most popular were Cooper, Boo, and Charlie. However, the names Bella and Luna made up 45 of the 50 states.
Do you know a Bella or a Luna?
