What better way to honor 'National Girl Scout Day' that by eating some of my favorite Girl Scout cookies!
I was pleasantly surprised recently when an actual Girl Scout (along with her mother) rang my doorbell. She was going door-to-door selling cookies. I haven't seen that in a very long time. Even though I already had my yearly allotment of G.S.cookies, I just had to buy more from her from going the extra mile.

Violence outside Ferguson police HQ
One witness says "everybody started running or dropping to the ground" when shots were fired during a protest this morning in front of the police department in Ferguson, Missouri. Two officers were hit, one in the face and the other in the shoulder. St. Louis County Police Chief Jon Belmar describes their injuries as "serious" and says whoever fired the shots appeared to have been aiming for the officers.
Parole Board meets today over Flynn
The New Hampshire man who 25 years ago murdered the husband of his instructor and lover, Pamela Smart, is getting his first chance at parole. William "Billy" Flynn was 16 in 1990 when he and three friends carried out what prosecutors said was Pamela Smart's plot to murder Gregg Smart. A three-person state board today will decide whether to release Flynn.
Overnight shooting in Queen City
Police in Manchester are investigating after a 17-year-old girl was shot in the face and neck. The unidentified victim was taken to a Boston hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
