Four dead in Maine
Maine State Police say 4 people have died of gunshot wounds in the home they shared in Oakland. The gunman is among the dead. Maine Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the shooting erupted Wednesday night at 8 on Belgrade Road in Oakland. Get the complete story here.

Businessman to announce gubernatorial candidacy 
Businessman Mark Connolly is jumping into the gubernatorial race. Connolly is expected to announce his candidacy at an event this morning in Manchester. He enters a Democratic field that already includes Executive Councilor Colin Van Ostern.

Hassan praises Board of Medicine
Governor Maggie Hassan is praising the state Board of Medicine for adopting new emergency rules to help stem opioid abuse. One new rule ensures patients are told about the risks of opioids and consent to their use. Another rule requires doctors to do a thorough risk assessment before prescribing opioids to patients with chronic pain.
