My Christmas Traditions: #4 The Santas

(Dover, NH) - Christmas decorations don't go up in our home until after December 2 (my birthday), and the first ones up are our Santas.

For over 30 years, I was purchasing a new Santa each Christmas to add to our mantle.

The collection includes Santas handed down from past generations of our families....

to the traditional Coca Cola Santa ( this one in a snow globe).......

to several, like the one on the right,  that we received from a friend who was working in Russia.

Some of the Santas are as small as an inch or two tall, dwarfed by those up to a foot tall.

They come in all shapes and sizes and colors, but all represent the man we have come to know as Father Christmas.
