We started chatting about some of the weird items you or your kid got while trick-or-treating. There were so many listeners that chimed in saying their kids got a toothbrush and floss with a dental office business card attached to it. So, dental professionals, do you hand out candy or dental implements?

Believe me, I totally get the advertising aspect of this and being a former dental assistant, I understand you want kids to brush and floss as much as possible. Some things you see as a dental assistant would scare the average person. But, Halloween and trick-or-treating in my opinion, is for fun and candy.

No kid wants to go home, check their loot for Milky Ways, Snickers and Three Musketeers and find floss and a toothbrush. Give that stuff away at the office after their cleaning and fluoride treatments.

LePage says negotiations broken down
Governor Paul LePage says negotiations with nurse Kaci Hickox have broken down and he's ready to exercise the "full extent" of his authority to protect the public. LePage says the state was willing to agree to arrangements that would have allowed Hickox to go for walks, runs and bicycle rides while preventing her from going into public places or coming within 3 feet of others. The governor says those discussions have failed.
