It’s an Easy 4-Hour Road Trip to This Natural Water Park Built Into a Ski Mountain
Summertime in New England means it's time for waterpark season.
I just discovered a water park slightly outside of New England that is totally road trip-worthy.
Don't worry, it is only about four hours away. I would not recommend this place if it were over a five-hour drive.
This is Mountain Creek Water Park in Vernon, New Jersey.
As you can see in the video above, a woman is sliding down a funky-shaped waterslide. The reason the slide is "funky-shaped" is because it's contoured in an old ski mountain.
I do not know if I have ever seen such a unique waterpark.
Sure, I have seen natural water slides like the ones in the White Mountains, but those are very small.
This place has enormous water slides all contouring to the mountain they were built on. Look at the video below. The tubes are winding down the mountain around trees, rocks, and other natural features.
It is important to specify that the water itself is not natural. So unlike the natural waterslides in the White Mountains, this water has chlorine, and the slides are not just rock. They have some added protection.
One of the most unique features of this park is the pool, where you can slide off rocks or cliff jump into the pool below.
Other than the natural-looking slides, this waterpark also has tons of traditional water slides, wave pools, etc.
But the highlight of Mountain Creek Waterpark is certainly the mountain slides.
