The Super Bowl MVP will throw the green flag at Stock Car Racing's Super Bowl this Sunday.

According to ESPN, New England Patriots wide receiver and Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman has been named the honorary starter for Sunday's Daytona 500. He won't be the only NFL star on hand, as JJ Watt of the Houston Texans will give the command to fire engines. In years past, NASCAR has brought in many football stars, including Ken Stabler, Troy Aikman and Terry Bradshaw. Bradshaw had previous ties to NASCAR as co owner of a Xfinity Series team in the early 2000's.

Edelman has been ALL OVER the place since New England won the Super Bowl. In the weeks since, Edelman visited Disney World with Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and served as a presenter at the Grammy Awards. Oh yeah, and he shaved the beard on the Ellen show.

Edelman's green flag is scheduled for 2:30.
