If you live in New England, you know how lucky we are.  Within a few hours you can be in the mountains hiking or skiing, or boating or beaching at the ocean.

There are numerous lakes and rivers, plus spectacular waterfalls and rock formations, farms, vineyards, boutiques, and culture.

New England has it all, but there are two states in particular which stand out in the latest survey of the happiest states in the USA, according to wallethub.com.

The happiest states in the country are determined by a variety of factors, like a good work-life balance, an emotional network to lean on,  a good economy, mental and physical health, sleep, and good weather.

Despite the cold winters, New Englanders get outside and enjoy all four seasons, pursuing leisurely and professional passions.

Sounds like a dream, eh?  Well it is for Connecticut, which ranked 7th in the happiest state category.  There's a lot to love about the Nutmeg State, including its proximity to New York City, its beaches, and its history.

Ranking 10th on list of happiest states is Massachusetts.  The Bay State ranks high in all of the qualifiers, checking the boxes for income, physical and mental health, and community events.
