Living in New England isn't for the faint of heart when it comes to weather.  The Winter of 2025 into '26 was no joke. The amount of snow was silly in January and February.  Every day for a while it seemed like we got more snow!  Now, it is being predicted that we are going to have a hotter than normal Summer.

The Old Farmer's Almanac is saying that Maine is going to be hot and rainy, but New Hampshire and Massachusetts is going to be hot and dry.  Not so great when you are trying to grow a garden.

July and August Are Expected to Be the Hottest of the Summer

Well, maybe you should have invested in those mini-splits to cool things down, (there's still time) because this Summer is going to be a doozy with the hottest temps in July and August when the heat will rise across North America, so says the Almanac.  The article specifically cites the New Hampshire and Maine Seacoast.

Many people may not believe in the Almanac, but ... I offer you these two things:

First, being a weatherperson, no offense to them, but their predictions are sometimes really wrong by no fault of their own research.  Second, remember the winter we just had?  The Old Farmer's Almanac said we'd have a tough Winter and so we did.

I didn't think I would ever say this, but I would rather deal with the cold than the heat.  At least in the cold, you can always add more blankets, plug in more space heaters, etc., but the heat?  You can only strip down so far, ya know?
