Local heroes past and present are being honored for their sacrifice and service.

According to the Lowell Sun, The Tyngsboro Funeral Home will be dedicating its brand new flag pole to the town's first responders. Funeral home co -owner Daniel Martin told the Sun "The thought was to give them the honor and respect they deserve for their bravery and selflessness by putting their lives in danger everyday. " Lampron, a former town selectmen continued "There's a lot of lives that are saved because of police and firemen."  According to the Sun, this was an idea he thought of with his close friend, Donald Lampron.

Friday at 1pm, there will be a brief ceremony, which will take place outside the funeral home located at 4 Cassaway Drive, Tyngsboro. It will be a community affair, with Martin reportedly greeting attendees at the ceremony. According to the Lowell Sun, it will feature an invocation and benediction from local clergy and remarks from both Police Chief Richard D. Howe and Fire Chief Wes Russell.
