New Hampshire Groups Put Together Phenomenal Backpacks to Help Kids
Back to School Challenges
Since the pandemic lockdowns and virtual school last year, one thing parents didn’t give much thought to was school supplies. Now with in-person classes, parents are scrambling to gather enough together to get school supplies for kids after a tough year. Fear not, the Hooksett Area Rotary Club teamed up with the Rotary Club of Queen City-Manchester, SNHU, HarborOne Mortgage and HarborOne Bank and generous members of the the community to supply local kids with just the boost they need to get back to school according to the unionleader.com.
Back Packs Stuffed with School Supplies
Some of the backpacks came from donations and funds from the sponsors, other items were purchased off the Amazon Wish List set up to give the community an extra hand up during a stressful time. I know many parents are happy to send the kids back to school, but the expense can be crazy. I know when I had three kids in high school at the same time, I nearly had a heart attack with how much all those calculators, pens, pencils, folders, markers, and all the other things they needed cost.
Packed Backpacks to Go to Local Schools
Half the filled Backpacks will go to Manchester students and some will be delivered to agencies in New Hampshire such as the Upper Room, DCYF, Salvation Army, The Way Home, NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire and other students in need according to unionleader.com. School supplies get kids excited about going back to school and the donations really help local families.
