This New Hampshire Convenience Store Sold a Winning $50,000 Lottery Ticket
Can you imagine winning $50,000 just before the holidays? Well, it happened to someone who purchased a lottery ticket in New Hampshire for Saturday's Powerball drawing.
According to a report from WMUR, the winning ticket was sold at Circle K on Route 4 in Northwood. The winning ticket matched 4 out of the 5 winning numbers and the Powerball also matched.

Breaking Down the NH Lottery Payouts
If you break down the ticket by the numbers, meaning there are 6 numbers, including the Powerball Number, this ticket was only one number off. I can't imagine how frustrated the winner must be. Not to mention that they didn't purchase the power play, which would have doubled, tripled or even quintripled their winning! (if that's a word.) They could have taken home $500,000.
If I matched four out of the 5 "winning numbers," I'd freak out. The prize for 4 out of 5? According to powerball.com, it's $100. If we were talking grades, that's 80%, which is a B or B-, if my memory serves me.
No Winner on Saturday for the Powerball
There was no jackpot winner on Saturday, so tonight's drawing is an estimated $654 million dollars, which is probably around $300 million for the cash pay out and you won't hear me complaining about that.
It wasn't until recently that I decided to become a lottery player. I guess I always thought it was for older people, but maybe when I turned .....35, I thought I might as well give it a shot because, as they like to say, you can't win if you don't play. That's especially true when $50K was won right here in New Hampshire.
