The man, fighting kidney failure was feeling upbeat, decided to mow his lawn, and became the victim of a hit & run.

During the most recent blast of heat, we're told to stay indoors. However, the lawn isn't going to mow itself. Begrudgingly, many of us are out there every 5-6 days keeping it trim. Unfortunately for one Derry, New Hampshire man, a mowing last month took a nearly tragic turn. According to Boston.com, John Pothier suffered serious leg and arm injuries when he was hit. Police say once he was hit, the car left without stopping. John, a Navy Veteran is also battling kidney failure.

According to WMUR News 9, Thomas Marzola, of Londonderry, turned himself in Monday after learning that a warrant was issued. He’s been charged with conduct after an accident and insurance fraud. Officials said news reports and social media helped them identify Marzola, who was driving a 2008 Ford edge as a suspect.

Marzola will be arraigned next week.
