Newmarket Police Investigate Shooting And Arson Incidents
(Newmarket, NH) - Police say although both incidents occurred within a few days of each other on Langs Lane, they are not connected.
Last Friday night at 11:15, police were called to a Langs Lane residence for a report of a man suffering a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital for treatment of a leg wound. Police say there were several people in the residence at the time of the incident and they are cooperating with the investigation. No charges have yet been filed.
Sunday morning at 1, a resident of Langs Lane reported that his SUV was on fire in his driveway and that he spotted a car speeding away from the scene. The SUV was a total loss and the fire is being investigated as a case of arson.
Police stress that the two incidents are not related.
