It seems like just about everything has been cancelled due to Covid-19.  Well, some good news yesterday.  NASCAR will be coming back on May 17th!

Steve O'Donnell, NASCAR exeutive vice president and chief racing development officer, told Nascar. com:

“NASCAR and its teams are eager and excited to return to racing, and have great respect for the responsibility that comes with a return to competition,”  “NASCAR will return in an environment that will ensure the safety of our competitors, officials and all those in the local community."

So, what does that look like?  Well it means no fans in the stands and no practice for the drivers.  Plus, no qualifying for any races except the Coca Cola 600, according to NBC Sports.

NASCAR is set to become the first major sport to return during the Coranavirus pandemic, according to NBC sports.  Nascar.com says "No dates beyond May 27 have been announced, but NASCAR officials have said on multiple occasions that the sanctioning body intends to run a full 36-race NASCAR Cup Series slate in 2020."

That's good news for New Hampshire with the 2020 Nascar Xfinity Series race set for Saturday, July 18th at Louden.  Here's some clips to remind us how much we love NH Motor Speedway;
