No Cars for Two Days in Downtown Portsmouth. Walkers Enjoy
Walkers enjoy! Lovely historic Portsmouth will be participating in a pedestrian-only event for 2 Sundays this Fall. Downtown Portsmouth’s Market Square will be free of vehicle traffic so pedestrians can walk without worry and perhaps imagine the city as it was before car traffic took over. The Portsmouth, NH Patch is reporting on the “Share the Square” initiative which is scheduled for September 29th and October 6th this year.
I don't know about you but I love Downtown Portsmouth. According to NH Patch. The goal of “Share the Square” is to get people outdoors and enjoy the Portsmouth downtown. “Share the Square” will be happening during the Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival which is in its 20th year. Portsmouth library and the Portsmouth Recreation Department will be on hand to offer games and activities such as face painting for the kiddos, storytime, sidewalk chalk drawing, chess games, and giant Twister and Connect Four games, mini putt golf, and bubble magic.
