The Last Massachusetts Location of this Beloved Mexican Chain Has Closed

It's hard out here for restaurants to stay in business. People are spread extremely thin financially right now. If they are choosing to spend their hard earned shekels on a meal out at a restaurant, it better be worth it!

Many chain restaurants have slowly disappeared over the years. The TGI Fridays, Outback Steakhouses, and Applebee's of the world are becoming fewer and farther between.

I am not a huge chain restaurant person but when I do go to a chain, it's usually for my favorite cuisine which is Mexican food.

What is On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina?

Wikipedia describes On the Borders as a chain of Tex-Mex food casual dining restaurants located in the United States and South Korea.

The chain opened in the early 1980's and quickly spread all over the U.S! The closest location was in Woburn, Massachusetts, up until very recently when they announced they were closing their doors for good.

This was the very last On the Border location in the state of Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts location was not the only New England location to announce closure recently. The chain has closed a number of their locations in the last few weeks including their locations in Orange Connecticut, Holland Michigan, West Springfield Mass, and others. The chain has a single Connecticut location in Rocky Hill; and a single Rhode Island location in Warwick.

Thank goodness we have Margaritas Mexican Restaurant here in New Hampshire they don't seem to be going anywhere! (knock on wood)
