What is Memorial Day but a day to honor those who have died while serving in the military? We should observe the day with reverence. It’s not just a three-day weekend or a chance to BBQ, we must remember. We remember those we lost and honor those that served who have given us the gift of freedom. Our brave veterans have made so many sacrifices including those that lost their lives so that we could live free.

When is the parade

The Kingston Veterans will be hosting another parade this year to be held on Monday, May 31 at 1:00 pm, according to unionleader.com.

Last year’s rolling, social distanced parade worked out so well last year, it’s great to see them repeat it.

Where Is the Parade?

The Kingston Veterans will be held from Kingston Town Hall and will wrap up at North Road outside the fence at the Greenwood Cemetery, the news article stated.

Last year's rolling parade went off without a hitch so a repeat performance will be held this year. The Kingston Veterans was founded all the way back in 1946 by a local group of World War II veterans, according to the Union Leader.

What to Know

Keep in mind that social distancing protocols must be practiced by observers of the parade and please wear a mask if you intend to attend the festivities.

I think it's great that even during the pandemic the Kingston Veterans have found a way to honor our vets.

Jim Voss of the Kingston Veterans Club tells unionleader.com, “Everyone loves a parade and we expect our local police, fire, and veterans to be part of it and encourage others that wish to properly observe Memorial Day participate in their vehicle practicing social distancing with a display of appropriate banners or flags.”
