Photos and Video From ‘Alex Preston Day’ at UNH

New Hampshire's latest phenom celebrated his recent success on American Idol with his hometown, and some of his biggest fans at UNH this past Saturday. The day began with Gov. Hassan addressing a crowd in Mont Vernon, declaring Saturday, May 5 'Alex Preston Day' in New Hampshire. The festivities ended with a parade down Main Street, Durham followed by a free concert at the Whittemore Center.

Alex Preston resumes his American Idol competition Wednesday night on Fox. Be sure to vote and vote often! Thursday night's show will reveal the final two spots.

UPDATE: Sadly, Alex Preston will not continue his journey to be the next American Idol. He was voted off last night after a strong performance on Wednesday night. That leaves Jena Irene and Caleb Johnson for the finals.

As a consolation prize, Alex will get to perform with Jason Mraz next week.
