Police in Somersworth are not yet releasing the name of the 27-year-old man found dead on the property of Burger King yet.

Capt. Russell Timmons explained on Tuesday morning that they cannot release the name until a toxicology report is completed. That could potentially take weeks.

Timmons said if the manner of death turns out to be suspicious, they may have to investigate the case in a different manner.

"We'll wait for toxicology and the report to come back," Timmons said.

Workers on the breakfast shift at Burger King in Somersworth discovered the man's body on Thursday morning.

Emergency rescue crews were called to the restaurant on High Street at 6:43 a.m. for a reported male subject who was not conscious and not breathing outside the restaurant.

Upon arrival, crews determined that the man was deceased.

Police Chief David Kretschmar issued a press release that day which said it appeared that the man died of a drug overdose, but an autopsy would be performed to determine the cause of the man's death.

Workers at the restaurant were shaken after the scene was cleared.

"It's a rough way to start the day," Manager Brenda Bourdon told Seacoast Current.

Bourdon did not know anything about the individual.

"Just an unfortunate young man," she said.
