It seems like every time you turn around, another business falls victim to Covid-19.

This time it's Watermonkey, a Portsmouth, NH staple that has been around for 27 years.  The quirky store carried everything from clothing, gifts, and other cool unusual gifts from around the world.

According to their Facebook post, the physical store will close at the end of July. They are offering discounts and honoring gift certificates while they decide their future plans.

Aaron Jule tells Seacoastonline.com :

“As optimistic as we are for the future, it’s been a little nerve-wracking to make the decision, I wanted to become old and senile behind this counter.”

Jule's mom Carole started the business 27 years ago but Jule says that between the closures from Covid-19, rent, insurance and various other expenses, it's just not possible to stay open.

Hopefully, they'll be able to shift to online sales, but in the meantime, they are looking for customers to share their memories:

Sad to see another staple have to close it's doors!
