Reaching For Your Phone Will Start To Cost You Money This Summer
Before you reach for your phone the next time you're out driving, consider a new law that takes effect in New Hampshire this summer.
In an effort to reduce distracted driving, it will be illegal to use a phone without a hands free device beginning July 1st. For most of us, that means breaking a decades long habit. If the phone rings while I'm driving, I instinctively reach for it an answer it. Now is the time to begin breaking yourself of that habit before they start writing tickets for it.
In a recent article in Seacoast Online, the particulars of the new law were detailed. The only acceptable reason for making a phone call will be in the case of an emergency. So, the time to start thinking about this is now and begin living a hands free life while behind the wheel.
