According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the mandoline slicers sold at many major retailers including Marshall's, Kohl', Target and Macy's is being recalled because the blades on the small kitchen appliance can come off and injure the person using it.

The veggie slicers were sold between May of 2017 and April of 2018. They ranged in price from $13 to $20. They came in either a light green color or a blue shade.

The recalled slicers are a non-electric food preparation item used to slice and julienne vegetables. The slicers have a clear plastic container to capture the sliced food, two blade attachments (one large-blade slicer and one small-blade julienne slicer), a holder for the attachments and a plastic knob component to move and hold the food.

The CPSC has recalled some 19.000 of the Sharper Image and Fridigaire Mandoline Slicers. They were sold in a dozen different retailers throughout the United States and online. Apparently, the hazard is that the small blades in the julienne slicer attachment can separate from the plastic assembly, posing a laceration hazard.
