If you don't have plans yet for November 23, think about this.

Thanksgiving Day is one of the most stressful days of the year for hosting a dinner or gathering.  The cleaning alone will make you crazy, but add to that the stress of having every food item, including a big bird, impeccably timed to be served hot and steamy on the table at the prescribed dinner time.

Just reading about it adds tension to my life.

If you want some great suggestions for dining out on Thanksgiving, Facebook readers do not disappoint with their suggestions on the Seacoast Eats page. Many of these places have added attractions.

The Sheraton Harborside Hotelin downtown Portsmouth will be having their holiday buffet on Thanksgiving Day, and this includes complimentary parking.

The Wentworth by the Sea Buffet (in Portsmouth) is the best - not like a regular line Buffet - it’s wonderful separate stations with something for everyone.

We ended up at the Mountain View Grand in Whitefield (awesome for kids and adults). They have their own dinner there, but we love going just down the road the the Inn at Whitefield for their Thanksgiving dinner. It's amazing. We ended up doing that for several years in a row. Oh, and we would also go to Santa's Village the day after!

We love Steel Hill Resort in Sanborn for Thanksgiving, you can go for the day you do have to make dinning reservations in advance but kids love it and so do adults and then you can swim before or after.

The Governor’s Inn Rochester NH has amazing dinner choices. We made a reservation at The Library in Portsmouth. They're adding a Thanksgiving meal to their menu for the evening.

These are all great ideas, but the overwhelming choice was the Roundabout Diner at the Portsmouth traffic circle.  Many people suggested the Roundabout for the pricing, but it's also a great option if you want a Thanksgiving dinner to-go, which makes a lot of sense.  Pick up the turkey dinner for any number of guests, and bring it home to enjoy in the comfort of your own home.
The other standouts were The Old Salt in Hampton, which also garnered plenty of votes, and Hart's Turkey Farm Restaurant in Meredith.
Some honorable mentions outside of New Hampshire include Clay Hill Farm in Cape Neddick, Maine, Plimouth Plantation in Plymouth, Massachusetts, York Harbor Inn in York, Maine, and the Hungry Traveler in Salisbury, Massachusetts.
Whatever way you give thanks this year, enjoy the food coma, too.
