Reusable Shopping Bags Not Allowed in NH
COVID-119 precautions are happening in every state. WMUR.com reports that Governor Chris Sununu signed an emergency order Saturday officially BANNING the use of reusable shopping bags as a step towards slowing the spread of COVID-19. The order applies to all retail stores, supermarkets, grocery stores, and convenience stores. He says, “Our grocery store workers are on the front lines of COVID-19, working around the clock to keep New Hampshire families fed.
With identified community transmission, it is important that shoppers keep their reusable bags at home given the potential risk to baggers, grocers, and customers.” WMUR.com reports that the emergency order comes as 10 new cases of COVID-19 was diagnosed over the weekend. There are still 959 tests pending on New Hampshire residents.
Grocery stores are to use paper or plastic bags for now until we can reduce the risk of community spread. Let’s take a minute to limit our shopping to only what we need and leave our reusable bags at home to protect the grocery workers who are putting their lives at risk.
