Rochester Police Have Welcomed A New K-9 To The Force
(Rochester, NH) - The Rochester Police Department has a new member, K-9 "Gunner".
"Gunner" is a 4-year old bloodhound who will partner with Officer Keith MacKenzie, with whom he had trained as a puppy.
4 years ago, Officer MacKenzie acquired "Gunner" from a breeder in Tennessee and trained him for Deputy Jeremy Joslyn of the Knox County, Maine Sheriffs Department.
During the training, "Gunner" and MacKenzie's K-9 Partner "Daisy Mae" became best of friends.
Deputy Josyln left the force last November and still owned "Gunner". When Joslyn heard of the passing of "Daisy Mae" earlier this year, he offered "Gunner" to MacKenzie.
"Gunner" and MacKenzie began their training several weeks ago and "Gunner" is now certified by the US Police Canine Association with MacKenzie as a tracking dog.
