Samuel Adams Brew Illegal in New Hampshire and Vermont
It’s the time of year when everyone is drinking warm apple cider, with a little rum or whiskey mixed in, but did you know you can get the same kind of kick from a beer?
WCAX3 is reporting on the Spooky Brew from Samuel Adams Brewers called Utopias. This beer is 28% alcohol by volume, which is why it’s illegal in Vermont and the Granite State.
A normal bottle of Sam Adams Lager has just a 5% alcohol content and some state laws prohibit beer from such high alcohol content.
Yup, 28% alcohol in a beer when you are expecting 5% could seriously throw you for a loop.
There is another warning for those who want to get their hands on the Samuel Adams Halloween brew; it’s a seriously scary price tag.
The Halloween brew is running at 210 bucks a bottle, according to the article by WCAX. It makes me think I would have to drink at least 3 of them to be drunk enough to pay $210 for a bottle of beer.
I won’t even pay $210 for a bottle of wine! I am cheap.
The bottle looks cool so possibly if you are a beer aficionado the steep price is worth it for a bottle that is sure to become a collector’s item.
Just remember, it’s illegal in New Hampshire and Vermont so drink up before you head to your home state with the empty bottle.
