(Rye, NH) - President Donald Trump is planning to nominate Scott Brown of Rye to be the next U.S Ambassador to New Zealand.

Brown is a former Republican U.S. Senator from Massachusetts who won a special election to fill the seat of the late Edward Kennedy.  Brown lost his reelection bid to Democrat Elizabeth Warren in 2012.

He moved to Rye, New Hampshire and ran for the U.S Senate again, losing to incumbent Democrat Jeanne Shaheen in 2014.

His Ambassador  nomination needs approval from the Senate.

Brown is married to TV Reporter Gail Huff. His daughter, Ayla Brown, is an accomplished country music artist.
