I follow the "You KNOW you're from Rochester, NH if you..." group on Facebook. Jess Lacaillade posted this photo on Sunday afternoon:

As it often goes on the internet, there were lots of negative and judgmental opinions shared in the comments section. What if their family member was behind the wheel of this car? What if someone they loved dearly was working the toll booth at that time? They would look at the photo and just think one thing, "I hope everyone is okay".

Empathy and compassion never goes out of style and I'd really love to see it make a comeback.

The good news? The toll booth was unoccupied and the person driving only suffered minor injuries.

According to WMUR, Sunday around 4 pm a 73-year-old woman from Acton, Maine, was traveling on Route 16 Northbound when she lost control of the vehicle. The site states the accident impacted traffic for about 6 hours while NHDOT employees worked to replace the toll booth and equipment.

Do you have any information pertaining to the crash? If so, contact Sgt. Jesse Sherrill of the New Hampshire State Police at 603-679-3333 or jesse.sherrill@dos.nh.gov.
