Soup Lovers Can’t Get Enough of this North Hampton, New Hampshire, Gem
Winter is here and therefore SOUP SEASON is upon us.
It's time to get in those snuggly pj's, watch your favorite rom coms, and slurp down delicious, soul warming, soup by the ladle full!
I take my soup eating/making pretty seriously
I am a bit of a self proclaimed soup aficionado. I get a little crazy with the soups I make. Last year my mission was to create soups inspired by all of my favorite sandwiches. I did a Philly Cheese Steak soup with a creamy cheez wiz broth.
There was a Rueben soup with sauerkraut and chunks of corn beef. (of course I dipped toasted rye bread into it. I am no amateur.)
I even experimented with an Italian Sub soup. If we're being honest, that one ended up being a little gross. Some sandwiches should just be left as sandwiches and not converted into soups.
I have also been known to dabble in a cold soup, especially in the Summer time! It's not for everyone but if you can put aside the impulse to blow on the spoon before taking a bite (I won't lie, I've still done it out of a habit and boy did I look like a fool!) cold soup can be refreshing and enjoyable. One of the best soups I've ever had was a cold cucumber basil soup with heirloom tomatoes topped with fresh mozzarella. I'm happy just thinking about it.
Now that I have expressed my undying love of soups to you, it is all to set the stage to tell you about Seacoast Soups in North Hampton, New Hampshire.
The Soup at Seacoast Soups in North Hampton is worth raving about
I went there for the first time a few weeks ago around lunctime and the parking lot was packed! I knew then and there this would be spot worthy of my lunch break. I have been back twice since.
For my first visit I ordered a Spicy Thai soup and Greek Salad. The flavors were out of this world and you could tell everything was made with fresh ingredients.
Michael Welshons on the Seacoast Eats Facebook page described the Spicy Thai soup as:
"The Spicy Thai Soup warmed the tastebuds, the soul and the belly! The broth is something I would Scrooge McDuck myself into and the glass noodles are a perfect texture throughout. Best freaking part is you can taste the soup before you buy it."
I wasn't aware that you are allowed to sample the soups before you commit to a bowl. Makes sense to me! You wouldn't buy a car without taking her for a spin around the block first.
Have you tried Seacoast Soups yet? What is your favorite soup on the menu?
