Eric Church played the final show of his "Gathering Again" Tour in the country in New York City.  That is the closest "The Chief" is getting to New England through the summer.

Q Prime management, whom I spoke with backstage at the New York show,  has confirmed Church will not be back in New England for a summer show.  He is doing stadium shows across the country, and will continue his "Gathering Again" arena tour in Canada.

There are rumors swirling about a bigger show at Fenway Park, or maybe Gillette Stadium.  However, it's not going to happen this year.

Church is no stranger to Gillette Stadium, touring with Kenny Chesney in 2013 for the "No Shoes Nation" Tour.  But Church has earned the superstar status with his rabid fans, "The Church Choir", and his rockin' country live shows, bringing crowds to a frenzy.

In New York, while on stage, Church signed boots passed up from fans, and wrapped himself in an American flag with his silhouette in the middle and "Gather Again Tour" on one of the stripes.

Church also took boots from the audience and signed them, a nod to his #1 song "These Boots".  Jack Daniels nips were passed up to him on stage from his fans, and he took one, opened it, and slugged it back.  The crowd went crazy.

There was a surprise guest as well.  Ashley McBryde sang backup for the show, with regular backup singer Joanna Cotton out sick.

Church's last appearance in the New England area was in December 2021 at Southern New Hampshire University Arena in Manchester.

Let's hope a stadium show is in his future here in New England.  Fingers crossed for "The Chief" in 2023.
