Police say the suspect at the center of a manhunt after being accused of abducting a woman and her son outside the Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester on Saturday, then allegedly sexually assaulting the woman in Vermont is now in custody. Authorities say 41-year-old Everett Simpson was apprehended in Upper Darby Township, Pennsylvania after a car chase.

Vermont State Police say Simpson forced the woman and her child into their car outside a The Mall of New Hampshire in Manchester over the weekend then took them across state lines into Vermont. Investigators say Simpson allegedly sexually assaulted the woman, who later called the police. Police say it appears the young boy involved in the kidnapping was not physically hurt. Authorities say this appears to be a random attack and the victims were not targeted.

As of Sunday night, authorities say Simpson was being evaluated at a hospital in Pennsylvania. He's expected to face several charges.
