The Maine Mariners Have Revealed Their New Mascot

(Portland, Me.) - "Beacon" will become the face of the hockey team that will begin play soon at the Cross Insurance Arena in Portland.

In their exclusive reveal on NewsCenter Maine this morning, the Maine Mariners introduced "Beacon", an Atlantic puffin that makes it's home in Maine each summer.

"Beacon" will appear at all Mariners event at the arena and in the community.

The Mariners, and affiliate of the New York Rangers, will begin their inaugural season as a member of the ECHL in October.
